Romney is The Real Cause of Springfield's Financial Crisis

There's a lot of finger pointing going on right now about who is to blame for the city's fiscal crisis. Some blame former Mayor Mike Albano, some blame the city's unions, and some blame years of financial waste. But no one seems to want to acknowledge the 800 pound gorillas in the room with the million dollar smiles, Governor Mitt Romney and his Republican predecessors. Over the past decade, they have wrecklessly cut taxes to win the public's approval. In the meantime, they are selling the public's welfare down the river.

For Governor Romney to come riding into Springfield on his white horse with his bailout money proclaiming that he is saving the city is the height of hypocrisy. He is only giving the city money that Romney and his cronies took away in the first place. And now Romney has exactly what he wants: an opportunity to break the backs of hard working people by killing their unions off.

This is all fits squarely into the conservative "Shrink, Shift, Shaft" agenda: Shink the government, Shift the burden down from the rich to the poor with tax breaks, and ultimately give middle class and working poor people the Shaft. This is also Dooh Nibor economics at its finest. Adding salt to the wound, Romney is proposing more tax cuts and cut more funding to the state's beleagured city's and towns, showing once again he has no regard for the welfare of our citizens.

Romney's insane tax policies must be exposed and reined in. If Romney is an 800 pound gorilla on a wreckless rampage, then the men and women of the Pioneer Valley AFL-CIO are his zookeepers. We will do everything in our power to throw him back to his cage in Utah. We welcome all ready to stand with us and throw this menace to our well-being out of office.
