What is it about Mary Johnson, Springfield YWCA's Executive Director?

UAW Local 2322 has a launced a new web site, "There's Something About Mary Johnson" to tell the story of how YWCA's Executive Director, Mary Reardon Johnson, is treating here workers unethically by busting their union.

Last year, the YWCA took the extraordinary move of withdrawing recognition of the union without an NLRB election. There are also reports from former workers that management intimidated workers into signing an anti-union petition in order to try to artificially demonstrate a lack of support for the union.

The union has since won a complaint against the YWCA for trying to bust the union and the NLRB is also asking for injunctive relief against the YWCA for interfering with their workers' right to organize a union. The cases are currently working their way through the administrative law process.
