Volunteers got the word out to passerbys about Bank of America in downtown Springfield.

The Pioneer Valley AFL-CIO participated by handing out leaflets and holding placards in front of the Bank of America's Monarch Place branch on Main Street in Springfield. The leaflets called on Bank of America, which received $45 billion in bailout money, to:

  • Do more to help create new jobs
  • Stop fighting financial reform
  • Start lending to communities and small businessesB

Rick Brown, President of the Pioneer Valley AFL-CIO said that "We desperately need to reform our financial system. Big banks like Bank of America need to be reined in. Our goal today was to keep these banks in the public eye to avoid going back to business as usual."
